Terms of Service

This English text is a translation of the Korean original; the Korean version governs in case of any discrepancy.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of kipid Inc. (the “Company”) and users in relation to the Recoeve service (the “Service”) that the Company provides, and set forth any other necessary matters.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  • “Service”: any and all content-curation, archiving, and social-networking services the Company provides.
  • “Member”: a person who has agreed to these Terms and entered into a service-use agreement with the Company.
  • “Account”: the unique identifying information (username, email, etc.) a Member registers to be identified and to use the Service.
  • “Content”: any text, image, link, or other material a Member registers, stores, or shares through the Service.

Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)

  • These Terms take effect when posted on the service screen or otherwise notified to Members.
  • The Company may amend these Terms when necessary, within the scope permitted by applicable law.
  • If these Terms are amended, the Company will post the amendments and their effective date on the service at least 7 days in advance. For amendments disadvantageous to Members or material in nature, notice will be given at least 30 days in advance, with individual notice to each Member by email or other electronic means in addition to the public posting.
  • A Member who does not agree to the amended Terms may terminate the service-use agreement. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the amendment constitutes agreement to the amended Terms.

Article 4 (Provision and Modification of the Service)

  • The Company provides the following services:
    • Saving, sharing, and recommending content
    • Social networking between Members
    • Other services as determined by the Company
  • The Company may modify all or part of the provided services based on the content of the Service and operational or technical needs.
  • When the Service is modified, the changes and their effective date will be posted on the service screen.

Article 5 (Membership and Account)

  • Membership is established when the user agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, completes the signup form as prescribed by the Company, and the Company accepts the application.
  • Members are responsible for the accuracy of information provided at signup. Use of false information or another person’s information may result in restriction of the Service.
  • Users under 14 years of age may register for membership only with the consent of a legal representative.
  • Members must keep their account information secure and must not permit any third party to use it. The Member bears responsibility for any damages arising from leakage or misappropriation of account credentials.

Article 6 (Obligations of the User)

Members must not engage in any of the following:

  • Impersonation or misuse of another person’s information
  • Infringement of the Company’s or a third party’s intellectual property rights, including copyrights
  • Acts that damage the reputation of, or interfere with the business of, the Company or a third party
  • Publishing or distributing obscene, violent, hateful, or otherwise offensive content contrary to public order and morals
  • Using the Service for commercial purposes without the Company’s consent
  • Acts that disrupt stable operation of the Service (hacking, automated bots, abnormal traffic, etc.)
  • Any other acts that violate applicable law

Article 7 (Ownership of Content and License)

  • The copyright of Content a Member posts on the Service belongs to that Member.
  • The Member grants the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publicly transmit, display, and distribute that Content to the extent necessary for operating, improving, promoting, and providing features related to the Service.
  • The Company will not use Member Content commercially beyond the above scope and will not provide it to third parties.
  • When a Member withdraws from the Service, Content posted by that Member is handled pursuant to the Company’s internal policy. Members who wish to delete Content must do so themselves before withdrawing.

Article 8 (Withdrawal and Loss of Membership)

  • Members may withdraw at any time through in-service account settings, and the Company will process the withdrawal without delay in accordance with applicable law.
  • If a Member violates the obligations in Article 6 or disrupts normal operation of the Service, the Company may issue warnings, suspend the account temporarily, or permanently terminate the Member’s access.
  • When the Company removes a Member’s qualifications, the Member’s registration is canceled and the Member is notified by email or otherwise.

Article 9 (Service Suspension)

  • The Company may temporarily suspend the Service in the event of maintenance, replacement, or failure of IT equipment; communication disruptions; or other force-majeure events.
  • If a suspension is planned, the Company will provide prior notice. If prior notice is not possible due to unavoidable circumstances, the Company may provide notice after the fact.

Article 10 (Disclaimer)

  • The Company is exempt from liability for failing to provide the Service due to acts of God, war, outages at a common carrier, or other force-majeure events.
  • The Company is not liable for service interruptions arising from a Member’s fault.
  • The Company is not liable for the reliability or accuracy of information, materials, or facts that Members post in connection with the Service.
  • The Company has no obligation to intervene in disputes between Members, or between Members and third parties, that arise through the Service, and is not liable for any resulting damages.

Article 11 (Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction)

  • These Terms are interpreted and applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  • Any litigation arising from use of the Service will be brought in the competent court determined under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
